Using spell correspondences can seem difficult to new practitioners since the information is often presented as way too much information to start with. Don't pressure yourself to memorize these lists for two reasons: 1) this will happen over time anyway, and 2) your personal list may change from time to time according to what works best for you. Simply begin creating a list of things easily accessible to you and expand it over time through experimentation.

When learning to create spells from a correspondence list/table, you'll first question your structure. Please visit the Spells Casting Info Page for more information on types of Spells and structure. Once your structure is determined, ritual actions may be apparent. Correspondences can be used to create or obtain any materials you may need to work a spell (colors, herbs, oils, metals, etc.), they may give you an idea of what colors are suitable for candles, what day of the week you should perform it on, as well as what time of day according the either the numbers or planetary associations. You can use specified oils to rub upon an object, the herb lists to decide what should be burned or included into a sachet/poppet..... It's really very simple once you learn spell types and structure. Don't make it so hard on yourself. Make things simpler.

As the creator of these lists, I do not claim that the information presented here is in any way complete, and I will be adding to them over time as there are always new discoveries to be made. The thing about spellwork we must remember when it comes to ingredients and other material, it has to "speak" to you. So for example if I use rosemary for a love spell, you may not feel it will be good enough for you if you prefer to use rose pedals. Be sure to test things out though, but always go with your instincts. What smells like love to you? What feels like trust? Hopefully you understand what I"m saying here. Trust yourself, even if you think you're too "new" to know what's right.
